Welcome to Labor of Love Birth Co.

Hey there! My name is Sydnee, and I’m the name behind Labor of Love Birth Co. As a doula, it’s my job to support you, however that may look! It could be as simple as a hand to hold, gentle reassurance, or even reminding you to just breathe. It truly is a “Labor of Love” from me to you.

About Me

I became very interested in all things related to birth when I was pregnant with my first. After having an exhilarating home birth with him, I knew I was hooked! I have since had my second and third children at home with a midwife as well, and it has only sparked a greater love and appreciation for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in my heart. I believe God has perfectly and intricately designed a woman’s body for bearing children, and this is a design that cannot be improved upon. I want to come alongside of and support a laboring mother in any way I can, while encouraging her to use her God-given instinct and ability for childbirth.

I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, as well as a Breastfeeding Counselor. I am currently working towards my Childbirth Educator certificate, and hope to move onto IBCLC from there. When I am not learning and researching all things birth, I am at home raising my 3 precious children, tending to our small but mighty homestead where we have chickens, pigs, and sheep, and soaking up the sunshine whenever I can.

Support Services

Prenatal Visits

I offer a free consult over Zoom or FaceTime where we can “meet” each other and you are free to ask any questions pertaining to my role and contract, or any concerns you may have. If you choose to hire me as your doula, we will have two more prenatal visits where we can meet in person to talk about how your pregnancy is going, write out a birth plan, discuss any concerns or questions, encouragement, etc.

Labor and Delivery

As soon as you are in labor, I will be available to come to you, whenever you feel you need me. I will be there to provide physical, emotional, and mental support for you. I want you to achieve the birth you desire!

Postpartum Care

Those first few days after having a baby are so crucial to attachment and bonding between mama and baby. I want to help facilitate the best possible outcome for everyone involved. Directly after the birth, I will stay with you until you and baby are settled in and comfortable, usually an hour or two. I will also leave you with information for any other resources you may need. Within a few days, we will schedule a postpartum visit to make sure your family is adjusting well and to help you with any additional questions or needs you may have. As a certified breastfeeding counselor, I can also assist with basic nursing questions and issues, as well as refer you to some wonderful IBCLCs that I know will be a blessing to you.

I serve the following areas: Fayetteville, Pulaski, Lawrenceburg, Ardmore, Athens, Decatur, Huntsville, Madison, Columbia, Lewisburg, Tullahoma, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Mount Pleasant

Baby Foot

Psalm 127:3

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
